open up to possibilities of how to connect and heal in community and show up in empowered ways
This is a unique 2.5 hour container that brings together IFS parts work, Constellations, as well as Community play.
IFS (Internal Family Systems, or parts work) is an evidence-based psychotherapy approach created by Richard Schwartz that views individuals as containing various "parts" with distinct characteristics and emotions, aiming to integrate and harmonize these internal aspects. International experts including Bessel van der Kolk and Gabor Maté describe IFS as “the most effective psychotherapy for developmental trauma”.
Constellations is a group therapy process in which group participants access information held in the body and act out interactions to help the client identify patterns. Whereas the original Family Constellations devised by Bert Hellinger explore family relationships and impacts, this Constellations in this event will explore the dynamics between our internal parts.
Community play is a secret catalyst for a truly transformative experience. Throughout history, human tribes have united in communal gatherings for healing purposes. The collective healing element we generate through seeing and being seen in community, remains underestimated in addressing contemporary mental health issues like depression, loneliness, and a lack of meaning.
About me, the facilitator
Hi! I am Xuel. I’m a psychotherapist-healer, intuitive guide, dancer, bodyworker and group facilitator. I work at the evolving edge of western psychotherapy and non-dual wisdom on ecological and collective healing, magic, and the arts. I have been designing and leading workshops and experiences since 2018 with my first project called “Unusual events by Michelle” with offerings such as “Sad Parties””Reimagined Ancestral Honoring Ritual”, ”Touch and Desires Playshop” etc. Currently, my focus on helping multicultural communities connecting with the earth, with our human nature, with our bodies and exiled parts through counseling work and group facilitations. I design unique workshops with a mission to make healing in community heart-opening and fun, blending a wide range of interdisciplinary modalities I’ve picked up from transformative festivals, professional trainings, spiritual pilgrimages, grad school and counseling work.
Why am I offering this?
Internal Family System was the therapeutic approach that I fell in love with that made me decide to become a therapist. When I first led this workshop in my community house living room in 2019, responses I received include: “I both shed tears and laughed really hard”“Better than the original Internal Family System intro workshop taught by Dick Schwartz.” When I ran into an old friend in a burner party in Portugal, he was still raving about this particular IFS playshop when he introduced me to people. That was when I realized how impact this process could be for participants and I am now more than excited to offer this experience again for my Bay Area community.
